Elizabeth Turner

Elizabeth is a multidisciplinary visual designer, specializing in the interactive visualization of complex data resources.

She began her career with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and worked for a number of years as an engineering designer, before entering the field of design and development on the Internet.

In 2005 Elizabeth completed a European Media Master of Arts degree at the Utrecht School of the Arts Faculty of Art, Media and Technology, where her continued work on the visualization of Semantic Web resources led to the foundation of iconomical.

As an independent web professional, she established a wide-raging portfolio of clients, including Hewlett Packard, the RSA and Joost, as well as working on a number of pioneering projects in the field of dynamic data visualization.

David Boyce

David is an experienced professional software developer, and has worked in the fields of applications development, systems and networking for over 20 years.

David’s career covers a wide range of topics, including embedded software development, image processing and data visualization, and Internet systems architecture and management. Much of the past ten years has been spent working on application architecture and development of one of Shell’s major geophysical simulation suites.

David was an early Internet adopter, contributing to open source projects as far back as 1990, and was one of the first people in the UK to get direct Internet access, as a founder member of Demon Internet in 1992.

Past employers and clients include Schlumberger, ICL/Fujitsu, Chello Internet, and Shell. David holds a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde.
